James is a lawyer with Desmarais Keenan LLP, joining the firm in May, 2018. James’ practice focuses on family law, employment law, and civil litigation.

Born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario, James graduated from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University in 2017.

Prior to joining Desmarais Keenan, James practiced with a prominent civil litigation firm in Northwestern Ontario, where he gained valuable experience in a wide range of civil litigation matters including employment law, commercial law, real estate, construction liens, and human rights. James has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, and the Ontario Small Claims Court. During law school, James was elected to the Lakehead Law Students’ Society council as its 2L Representative, and in his spare time organized the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law soccer team.
